To Shoot or Not to Shoot a Photo

A lot of people now are really getting in to photography. Some people might think that to take pictures is such an easy job. But they are forgetting the real essence of photography that is to seize and capture the beautiful moments and site. It needs an eye of an artist and the ability of a knowledgeable photographer to use the camera.

So you want better pictures? Here are some tips for you readers.

Composing. Organize the elements and individual details of a scene into a balanced and pleasing arrangement to contribute to convey the message of the picture. Some might like your composing, some might not but dont worry. Just do what you think is pleasing to you.

Panning. Blur the background but keep the subject as sharp as possible. Fast shutter speed allowed by fast moving subjects is easier to capture in a smoothly panned shot

Using Flash. Use it indoors when the main light source is not enough ambient light for a desired shutter speed. Use fill flash or fill-in flash which is a low powered flash added to ambient light to illuminate a subject close to the camera. Another technique is the bounce flash, point a flash upwards to a reflective surface to reflect the light onto the subject.

Focusing. There are various methods to focusing depending on the type of subject being photographed. With Self portrait or animal photography, the most important part of the image to capture sharply is the eyes, whether it is man or beast. Auto focus cameras are quite quick and accurate but the photographer must know how to use the cameras focusing system correctly.

Framing. Whenever a subject is composed it is framed by the photographer within the frame of the image itself. See the four sides of the image and try to fill the area so the picture will not look so bare. Another form of framing is using a prop to isolate your subject better and create a natural frame within the image itself.

Shoot and shoot and never give up. The real learning process comes over time, and of course with trial and error. You will never be an expert if you have not encountered any failure. So smile and go shoot some more pictures.
