In terms of popularity (which you know already if you keep up with mobile phone news), the Android OS is quickly starting to match the iPhone and Blackberry systems. This might be because the Android OS is used in lots of different phones. It could also be because this OS is always being developed and upgraded which makes it a lot more competitive with the other smart phones that are being sold. They built the system in 2003 and then sold it to Google for a lovely profit. After Google bought the OS it sat on the system for a few years while Google developers worked on it more and get it prepared for use in mobile devices.

Google is well known for its level of competitiveness–they aim to be the brightest and best in all of their markets. There are a lot of rumors and shady facts that surround Google phones. The fact is that Google phones (phones that use the Android OS) are becoming a lot more prevalent through the cellular market. Mobile developers are using the Android OS all the time now (HTC, Motorola and Samsung are good examples of this). The good news is that smart phones are cheaper and more readily available than ever.
