Honey and Beeswax – Beekeeping
August 17th, 2010 | by admin |Beekeeping is the process of maintaining and producing honey and beeswax by keeping bee colonies, commonly in hives. An apiarist, (the beekeeper) keeps bees so as to collect honey and beeswax, to pollinate crops, or to produce bees to be sold to other beekeepers. It is in two types: natural beekeeping and organic beekeeping. Both are similar in some ways, yet different. Organic beekeeping is regulated by rules set by the FDA. By that, one could be a natural beekeeper yet still not meet the requirements of an organic beekeeper. The latter is just a term or a name made by the beekeepers themselves. No legalities are present and set, unlike the organic producers.
