Colored rocks
August 16th, 2010 | by admin |An interesting fact about diamonds is that they can come in a variety of colors! And so while a yellowish tinge is not considered pretty, a very yellow diamond would be! And would be considered very desirable. You can also get pink diamonds, blue diamonds, orange diamonds, purple diamonds, and even black diamonds! And funny enough, because colored diamonds are even rarer than white diamonds, they can cost even more. The moral of the story is that a little color is bad, but lots of color is good.
One thing to observe about black diamonds is that they can be artificially created from white diamonds, by heating the uncut stone. So if youre buying a black diamond, make sure you know which type of black diamond it is. An artificial black diamond (i.e. artificially black; itll still be a real diamond) is much cheaper than a naturally occurring black diamond.
So why not consider colored rocks for your engagement rings or bridal sets?
