An aquarium will have to be cleaned once a month or so and plants need to be replaced. A heating device will be needed during the cold weather and filtration and aeration products are a must.

If this seems like a big task, then you can always get a rabbit, hamster or mice as a pet. You will still need to feed and clean it and its living area. In order to break the monotony you may have to buy a hamster wheel or a hamster ball, a wooden roller toy or a rabbit tunnel. A rabbit hutch and run is ideal if you want to keep the pet in the garden.
